With top level products and services, Sewerin are the market technology leader and a partner to the gas and water supply industry. Together with our 85 years of experience in the development of measuring devices, the knowledge accumulated by our own measuring teams contributes significantly to our success.

Sewerin products and services

At the Gütersloh location, the innovative devices move through development, design, testing and production before they are finally ready for the market. Throughout there is a particular emphasis on high quality and functionality. An important factor in our success is our production in Germany.

The Sewerin group’s gas and water leak detection teams sell measuring devices and services. We also offer stationary and mobile device maintenance service, development of emergency and leakage service vehicles and servicing and repair of home installations. A comprehensive program of seminars with our own test track rounds out our spectrum of services.

A successful global offering

An extensive distribution network consisting of sales engineers, subsidiaries as well as distribution partners makes success on a global level possible.

With Sewerin’s market leading products to locate leaks in water and gas distribution networks we are a leading supplier to the gas and water supply industry. Our core business is the development, production and global distribution of electronic measuring instruments for locating, measuring and warning of both gas and water leaks.

Water Leak Noise Loggers for the Early Recognition and Detection of Leaks in Water Supply Networks

The faster that a water leak can be identified the less water loss there is. In addition to the more conventional methods of leak detection the installation of SePem noise loggers has proved to be a cost effective tool in fast identification of water loss. SePem water leak noise loggers will alert you when a leak does develop.

Principle of Operation of SePem Noise Loggers

SePem loggers are highly sensitive microphones which are attached to valves, water distribution pipes or other access point. They are programmed to “listen” for leak noise in the quiete of the night. If there are louder than “normal” noises on the pipe during peiods when there would normally be expected to be none or low levels of noise, the SePem will alert the user.

There are three versions of the SePem noise logger:

SePem 100 noise logger

  • “Lift and Shift” logger designed to be used as a survey tool. The logger is placed in a different location each night. The next day the noise logger is collected and the “quietest noise level” that was stored during the period of measurement is automatically read by the SePem Master Controller. Suspected water leaks are indicated on the Master allowing further investigations to be carried out to locate the possible  leak’s source.

SePem 150 noise logger

  • “Drive By” Loggers – for permanent or temporary installation (but can also be used as “Lift and Shift”) noise loggers.
  • The logger is placed in a valve chamber. It stores the quietest noise level on the pipe at pre-programed times and intervals (selected by the user).
  • Each week, month, or even day, the logger is driven past by an operative with a Master Controller in their van.
  • The SePem logger automatically transmits its stored information to the Master. There is no need to exit the vehicle. The “quietest noise level” that was stored during the period of measurement that is higher than normal background noise on the pipe may be leakage. This is indicated on the Master allowing further investigation to take place.

SePem 300 GSM noise logger

  • For permanent installation.
  • The logger is placed in a valve chamber. It stores the “quietest noise level” on the pipe at pre-programed times and intervals (selected by the user).
  • At pre-programmed times the logger transmits the “quietest noise level” values to a central computer running the Sewerin reporting software.
  • “Quietest noise levels” that are higher than normal may indicate the presence of a leak. These points of potential leakage are indicated in a database which may be integrated into mapping/GIS software
