For more than 60 years, GfG has been committed to protecting people, industrial facilities and the environment by developing and manufacturing gas detection systems. With an extensive range of portable gas detectors and fixed gas detection systems, GfG can supply you with a selection of products for many applications and industries. Our scope also includes on-site service and advanced training courses.

What distinguishes us from other manufacturers

We are specialists for gas detection solutions, not generalists in safety. No one can be the best at everything, but if you focus on one thing, you can achieve excellence. We work hard to provide you with the best gas detection equipment available, so you can focus on your task without having to worry about the risks that gases can pose. Because of that we invest more heavily in research and development than any other company. Approximately 13% of our annual turnover is reinvested in basic research and the development of new sensors and devices.

A “never say no” approach

This includes finding solutions for customers whose requirements are not met by “off the shelf” products. We take pride in our longstanding cooperation with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), for example. For many years now, they have put their trust in GfG’s portable devices, which we optimized to adapt to the Singaporean climate and fulfill the special requirements for integration into the SCDF communication network.

Toxic gases and highly flammable hydrogen pose a danger to people and plants in many industrial areas. In many places, the oxygen concentration must also be continuously monitored. The EC24 is suitable for all these tasks and can also be installed in potentially explosive locations. Easy service, long-life sensors and a large selection of detectable gases make the transmitter a good choice for many applications.

Rugged design and wide sensor selection
The rugged aluminum housing is protected against dust and water ingress (IP66). The transmitter has an ATEX certification for safe operation in Ex zone 2. Sensors with different measuring ranges from a few ppm up to 2000 ppm are offered for many toxic gases such as chlorine, carbon monoxide and ozone as well as for hydrogen. Oxygen can be measured in concentrations from 0 to 25% by volume. An overview of the detectable gases can be found at the bottom of this page.

Communication and service
The EC24 communicates the measurement signal analog to a controller. It is available either as a 0.2-1 mA version or with the widely used 4-20 mA industry standard. A cover plate on the front of the transmitter housing simplifies service. Test gas can be supplied for regular functional tests using a calibration adapter. Adjustment can be performed by a single technician.
