We are specialists for gas detection solutions, not generalists in safety. No one can be the best at everything, but if you focus on one thing, you can achieve excellence. We work hard to provide you with the best gas detection equipment available, so you can focus on your task without having to worry about the risks that gases can pose. Because of that we invest more heavily in research and development than any other company. Approximately 13% of our annual turnover is reinvested in basic research and the development of new sensors and devices.


A “never say no” approach

This includes finding solutions for customers whose requirements are not met by “off the shelf” products. We take pride in our longstanding cooperation with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), for example. For many years now, they have put their trust in GfG’s portable devices, which we optimized to adapt to the Singaporean climate and fulfill the special requirements for integration into the SCDF communication network.

The CC28 uses catalytic combustion (CC) to detect combustible gases and vapors such as methane, propane and hydrogen. The long-life sensors make the CC28 an economical solution for detecting a wide range of combustible gases in the measurement ranges 0 to 100% LEL and 0 to 4% by volume (NH3). Automatic temperature compensation and linearization of the measurement signals ensure high measurement accuracy.

Explosion protection, functional safety and device protection
The CC28 has ATEX certification for use in Ex Zone 1, and its hardware complies with the European Functional Safety Standard DIN EN 61508-2: 2011 (SIL). The housing is protected against dust and water ingress (protection class: IP64). An optional weatherproof housing provides additional protection.

Communication and service
Signal transmission is done via the analog industry standard (4-20 mA). Operating states are indicated by the transmitter via two status LEDs. Service and adjustments are carried out on site using the optional RC2 remote control (one-man adjustment). The pre-adjusted sensors can be easily replaced thanks to Smart Sensor technology. Test gases can be supplied for function tests using a flow adapter.
