Communication equipment is essential for keeping workers safe and protected in hazardous environments, and in lone worker situations. The safety equipment that workers use to keep in touch with colleagues must be reliable, safe, strong, and effective.
Communication equipment and PPE
In some cases, depending on the environment, it must be intrinsically safe, for instance in explosive atmospheres (ATEX). The communications equipment must perfectly integrate with the rest of a worker’s personal protective equipment (PPE); a communication headset should integrate with the helmet, respiratory equipment or eye protection and hearing protection that a worker needs to wear so that its efficiency isn’t reduced.
