These elements conform to the internationally accepted requirements of IEC60751, which defines the resistance vs. temperature characteristics of the sensors, their base resistance at 0°C and their accuracy.

Class: 1/3B (AA)

Tolerance (°C): ±(0.1 + 0.0017t)

Tolerance of resistance at 0°C (Ω): ±0.04Ω

Temperature Range: 0 to +150°C

Class: A

Tolerance (°C): ±(0.15 + 0.002t)

Tolerance of resistance at 0°C (Ω): ±0.06Ω

Temperature Range: -50 to +300°C

  • Long-term stability: Max. Ro drift 0.04% after 1000 hours at 500°C
  • Vibration resistance: At least 40g acceleration at 10 to 2kHz, depending on installation
  • Shock resistance: At least 100g acceleration with 8 ms half sine wave, depending on installation
  • Insulation resistance: >100 MΩ at 20 °C; >5 MΩ at 500 °C
  • Self heating: 0.4 K/mW at 0 °C
  • Measuring current: 100 Ω: 0.3 to 1 mA; 1000 Ω: 0.1 to 0.3 mA (self-heating should be considered)
  • Dimensional tolerance: ±0.2 mm

Response time:

  • Water (v = 0.4 m/s): t0.5 = 0.05 s; t0.9 = 0.15 s
  • Air (v = 2 m/s): t0.5 = 3 s; t0.9 = 10 s

Note: These RTD elements are made with platinum coated nickel lead wires. Since platinum does not easily wet with most soft solders, we advise that they be spot welded or silver soldered to extension wires when required.
