Anti-Vibration Gloves

Superior Glove. Jobs involving repetitive impact and vibration can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome and other debilitating injuries. If you are handling pneumatic tools, rivet guns, or jackhammers, the Superior line of vibration-dampening gloves with impact resistance and metacarpal protection help reduce your risk of injury.   Repetitive trauma associated with excessive vibration to the hands is a big problem in North America. Employees develop many symptoms associated with hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS). Hand-arm vibration is vibration transmitted into your hands and arms when you use hand-held powered work equipment. Too much exposure to hand-arm vibration can cause hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and carpal tunnel syndrome. These gloves are padded with a layer of vibration dampening polymer. Specially compounded, formed-chloroprene coated, seamless-lined gloves. Good for protection from repetitive impact and work with pneumatic vibrating tools. Ergonomic design offers both comfort and flexibility. Meets the EN ISO/ANSI standard for for vibration reduction.

Aerospace Gloves

Most of the styles Superior Glove offer cater to the common denominators across the spectrum of this industry, like silicone-free styles, to eliminate the potential for any cross contamination. The following selection of cut-resistant styles is especially geared toward use in aerospace because they fit so well. A close fit is critical in many areas, since loose clothing — especially hand protection; is a serious hazard when working with moving parts. And when it comes to precision work, a close fit is essential for both dexterity and touch sensitivity. Palm coatings include polyurethane, for a lightweight, non-shedding finish that provides good grip without adding bulk or impeding touch sensitivity or nitrile (regular and foamed) for superior puncture resistance plus great chemical protection, especially from oils. Superior Glove's commitment to their cut-resistant styles is ongoing as they innovate new products based on industry feedback and demands.

Where It All Began

Driving through current-day Acton, Canada, it might not be as easy to understand why a glove company could succeed here. But rewind nearly a century and Acton was the Largest Tannery in the British Empire. It was where Frank Geng, the Patriarch of Superior Glove Works saw an opportunity. In 1961, Frank purchased the Acton Glove Company (est. 1910), a fledgling work glove manufacturer, renamed it Superior Glove Works Ltd. and turned it into the powerhouse that it is today.

Frank had a vision to build the kind of hand-protection company that would go on to become the largest in the country. His own expertise in leather tanning put him ahead of the competition. Frank used bits of leather deemed useless by neighboring Beardmore Leather to create glove styles for farmers and factory workers. As business progressed, Frank added a tannery to further process the split leather supplied by Beardmore. By 1975, new technology developments created more opportunity for manufacturing gloves using materials other than leather. Rapidly evolving fiber technology led to a whole new generation of hand protection, which Superior eagerly adopted in order to keep up with increasingly sophisticated changes to workplace technology.

In the process of expansion, Superior’s product range evolved from just five styles in 1961, to over 3,500 today. In a time when most manufacturing was being moved overseas, Superior Glove expanded operations into Eastern Canada. Our two plants in Newfoundland produce a whole new generation of string-knit gloves and sleeves and is the site of some of our best innovations.

We have our own nitrile dip and coating lines, PVC dotting lines, yarn development capability, and cleanroom laundry—making Superior the most flexible and vertically integrated North American glove manufacturer. Our Acton headquarters features an in-house lab to test our latest designs, and our sales team now covers the globe as we continue to innovate and seek out the best materials and methods.

What sets Superior Glove apart?

A quick glance at job injury stats can create some false impressions. While hand injuries in no way represent the majority of lost-time injuries, it is the nature of those injuries that tells the real tale, and a closer look at the stats shows why: hand injuries are the most preventable. And when it comes to hands, preventable = gloves.

Consider as well the role your hands play in the workplace: hand function is on par with eyesight, and many jobs become impossible to perform–safely or otherwise–without the full functioning of either. This puts hand protection at the top of the list in most jobs when it comes to safety, productivity and the role of protective apparel. A little education goes a long way too–Superior has made both their speciality.

The number-one reason to buy from Superior–besides our reputation of having the most unique product selection in the industry–is our passion! We live and breathe hand protection. With the largest glove selection of any company–over 3,500 styles in warehouses across Canada and the U.S.–our products are also the most technically innovative. We love it, and it shows. And our rule of thumb is: if you don’t see it here, tell us! We’ll create it for you.
