Collection: Industrial Gas Systems
Wherever toxic or combustible gases are part of an industrial process or a by-product of it, they pose a threat to people, property and productivity. Honeywell Analytics offers a complete line of rugged, reliable, fixed-point gas detectors to serve as your first line of defense against gas threats. The fixed line incorporates the full spectrum of Honeywell gas sensing technologies (electrochemical, catalytic bead, open-path and point Infrared), offering the safety manager a “one-stop” solution for choosing a compatible gas detection system or integrated fire/gas system. Whether your need is to monitor gas hazards in a large area or several discrete locations from a convenient central site, Honeywell Analytics has a solution. Applications include oil and gas, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, industrial refrigeration, water and wastewater treatment, plastics and fibers, pulp and printing, agriculture, manufacturing and other industrial processes.
Sensepoint XCD
Sensepoint XCD now has remote monitoring capabilities for its toxic and Oxygen sensors. Its remote capability is designed to offer excellent flexibility of use and is an ideal solution for hard-to-reach locations or areas where the transmitter needs to be separate from the sensor.
With remote toxic and Oxygen sensor mounting of up to 100 feet (30m) away from the transmitter, Sensepoint XCD provides a robust monitoring solution even in challenging environments where detection is difficult, including applications where the point of detection is in an area that is not easily accessible or where the detector would not be visible, like in high or low level concealed areas or outside a room being monitored.
Sensepoint XCD is easy to use. The sensor simply plugs into the bottom of the transmitter and the transmitter automatically configures itself accordingly. Users can modify detector operation using the LCD and magnet switches without ever needing to open the unit. This enables one-man, non-intrusive operation and reduces routine maintenance time and costs.
A tri-color backlit LCD clearly indicates the unit’s status at a glance, even from a distance. A steady green backlight indicates normal operation, flashing yellow indicates fault and flashing red indicates an alarm.
All detectors are supplied pre-configured and include two programmable alarm relays, one programmable fault relay as well as an industry standard 4-20mA output (sink or source selectable) and MODBUS communication. The scale, range, relay operation, alarm set point and electronic tag number of the detector can be adjusted using the transmitter’s LCD and non-intrusive magnetic switches. Outputs are automatically inhibited during adjustment, thereby reducing the risk of false alarm at the control panel during maintenance.

Signalpoint
Supplied with an integral pre-wired junction box, the detector can be installed using conduit or cable and glands depending on individual site standards.
Two basic arrangements are provided. Flammable detectors offer mV bridge output for use with dedicated gas control systems (such as Unipoint) and are certified under ATEX for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Toxic and Oxygen detectors are designed for use in non-explosive atmospheres.
They are 2 wire 4-20mA loop powered and can be used with PLC or dedicated gas control systems.
Toxic and Oxygen versions of Signalpoint also provide a local LED indication of their status; periodic green flash (OK), flashing amber (warning) and flashing red (alarm). Seconds count and so the front-end sensor design ensures fast speed of response even with ‘sticky’ gases.
Easy installation is provided for. The junction box includes ‘hidden’ mounting for wall and ceiling fixings. The hinged lid of the junction box ensures both hands are free to complete electrical connections via the M20 clearance cable/conduit entry.
Maintenance requirements are kept simple and to a minimum. Normally used with the Honeywell Analytics range of industrial controllers, all user adjustments are made at the controller as required. At the end of their operating life, simply replace the sensor before re-configuring the controller. Sensor exchange kits are available to replace the electrochemical sensors used in the toxic and Oxygen detectors. The flammable sensor is simply replaced by fitting a new lid complete with sensing element.
Signalpoint offers low cost, easy installation and simple maintenance. As part of any Honeywell Analytics gas detection system you are assured of being surrounded by gas detection equipment you can trust to keep you safe.
