LEZARD

Helivac lanyard with securing of the drop-off/recovery phases

The LEZARD lanyard is designed for helivac at altitude. It allows the drop-off/recovery phases to be secured thanks to an adjustable arm that can be instantly ejected to free the victim, the rescuer and the helicopter if the latter needs to suddenly leave its stationary position. Handling the LEZARD helivac lanyard is easy thanks to the instant identification of the color-coded attachment elements and the very quick and precise adjustment of the adjustable arm with the ADJUST rope adjuster.

Description

  • Designed for helivac at altitude:
    – on the metal frame, a large upper hole for rapid attachment of the helicopter winch
    – adjustable arm allows its length to be adjusted for connecting to the belay station
    – double lower end allows the rescuer and victim to be connected
    – carabiner fixed to the metal frame to attach a litter
  • It allows the drop-off/recovery phases to be secured: if the helicopter needs to suddenly leave its stationary position, the adjustable arm instantly ejects to free the victim, rescuer and the helicopter
  • Easy manipulation:
    – instant identification of the attachment elements, thanks to their color coding
    – very quick and precise length adjustment of the adjustable arm, thanks to the ergonomic shape of the ADJUST rope adjuster
    – facilitated clipping due to connectors held in correct position
  • Lanyard in low-stretch kernmantel rope allows optimal deployment (1)

NOTE: Because of the specificity of the LEZARD helivac lanyard, training on how to use the product is mandatory, through Petzl or a certified body.

    (1) The LEZARD helivac lanyard does not have an energy absorber. It should thus only be used if the fall factor is less than 1 (used below the anchor point).

The LEZARD was developed by Petzl and based on a patent filed by Jean-Louis Rocourt.

ABSORBICA

Compact energy absorber

ABSORBICA is a compact energy absorber, for use in combination with a JANE lanyard to make a fall arrest lanyard. Equipped with tear-webbing inside a zippered fabric pouch, the energy absorber is protected from abrasion while allowing for regular inspection. It has two options for installation on the harness according to the frequency of manipulation.

Description

  • Designed for use in combination with a JANE lanyard to make a fall arrest lanyard with a maximum length of two meters
  • Absorbs energy in case of a fall:
    – tearing of the energy absorber webbing limits the impact force on the user
    – works with users who weigh between 50 and 130 kg
    – progressive tearing reduces the deceleration on lightweight users
  • Minimal bulk: compact to facilitate handling
  • Abrasion resistance:
    – durable zippered fabric pouch protects the energy absorber from abrasion or contaminants while allowing for regular inspection of the absorber
    – pouch reduces the risk of cuts and potential severing over edges
  • Two options for installation on the harness, depending on use:
    – frequent connection/disconnection: with a carabiner held in correct position by the STRING (included with the absorber) or with a MICRO SWIVEL to avoid tangling
    – semi-permanent connection: with a RING OPEN whose circular shape ensures optimal positioning, or with a SWIVEL OPEN to avoid tangling

JANE

Non-adjustable dynamic rope lanyard

Non-adjustable dynamic rope lanyard combines with an ABSORBICA energy absorber to create an I or Y energy-absorbing lanyard that helps hold the connector in position, with abrasion protection for the ends.

Description

  • Can be combined with an ABSORBICA energy absorber to set up an energy-absorbing I or Y lanyard with a maximum length of two meters
  • Sewn ends protected by plastic sheath to hold the connector in place and protect the ends from abrasion
