CC33 stainless steel Transmitter

The CC33 uses catalytic combustion (CC; also heat tone or HT) to detect flammable gases and vapours such as methane, propane and hydrogen as well as ammonia. The long-life sensors make the 33 series transmitters an economical solution for detecting a wide range of combustible gases in the measuring ranges 0 to 100 % LEL and 0 to 4 % by volume (NH3). Automatic temperature compensation and linearisation of the measuring signals ensure high measuring accuracy. In the event of an alarm, two red LEDs light up and the display colour changes to red. The three optional relay outputs can be used to automatically control an explosion-proof buzzer, visual warnings such as flashing lights or the ventilation by alarm.

Communication and service
Signals are transmitted according to the analogue industrial standard (4-20 mA) or via the digital RS-485 interface (Modbus protocol). The transmitter indicates operating states via two status LEDs. In addition, two alarm and three relay LEDs are integrated. Service and adjustments are carried out on site via a magnetic pen and three magnetic buttons behind 15 mm thick bullet-proof glass (one-man adjustment). The pre-adjusted sensors can be easily replaced thanks to Smart Sensor technology. The multi-colour backlit display shows the current measured value, status messages and the menu of the CC33. Test gases can be added for function control with a calibration adapter. Alternatively, when mounted in a difficult-to-reach location, it is possible to use an optional remote calibration adapter without affecting the transmitter’s stack effect.

Explosion and equipment protection
The CC33 is approved for use up to Ex zone 1 and meets the requirements of ignition protection type “d” (flameproof enclosure). The unpainted stainless steel housing and Viton seals guarantee a long operating time even under the toughest conditions. The transmitter is protected against the ingress of dust and water according to IP54. If required, the protection class can be brought to IP67 by means of additional thread seals.

IR29 Di Transmitter

The IR29 Di uses non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor technology to detect combustible gases and vapors as well as carbon dioxide. For selective measurement results without false alarms, our patented 4-beam and 4-wavelength technology with gold-plated mirror optics is used, which dispenses with beam splitters altogether. The infrared sensors used also enable measurements above the lower explosion limit (LEL), do not require oxygen and are insensitive to sensor poisons. The long-life sensors make the IR29 Di a permanently reliable solution for detecting a wide range of combustible gases and vapors in the measuring ranges 0 to 100 % LEL as well as CO2 in the measuring range 0 to 10 % by volume. Automatic temperature compensation and linearization of the measurement signals ensure high measurement accuracy.

Communication and service
Signal transmission is according to the 4-20 mA industry standard. The transmitter indicates operating states via two status LEDs. The currently measured gas concentration can be read on the LC display. Depending on the installation location, this can also be selected as a rotatable version. Service and adjustments are carried out on site using the optional RC2 remote control or the RC3 IR remote control (one-man adjustment). The IR29’s self-monitoring feature increases instrument safety between maintenance intervals. Test gases can be added for function control and adjustment using a calibration adapter.

Safety and instrument protection
The IR29 Di is ATEX-certified for use in Ex zone 0. It complies with the intrinsic safety “i” standard, which is required for use in numerous industrial plants and in mining. EC28 Di Transmitter

Intrinsically safe operation
Due to its intrinsically safe build, the EC28 Di can be used even in areas with a particularly high risk of explosion. A safety barrier (SB1 or Zener barrier; optionally available) has to be connected between the transmitter and the programmable logic controller (PLC) to convert the supply voltage to 24 V DC. This prevents the power lines from igniting within the Ex zone. The intrinsic safety of the EC28 Di is ATEX-certified and makes it suitable for applications up to Ex zone 0.

Communication and Service
Communication is carried out via a 4-20 mA signal. The Smart Sensor technology enables fast and uncomplicated replacement of the sensor.

Display and Control Buttons
The EC28 Di transmitter features a 2.2 inch LC display and three control buttons. In normal operation, the display shows the measured value or information on faults or alarms. In addition, the operating parameters (sample gas, measuring range, limit values, etc.) can be called up via the operating keys.

Remote Control RC2 (optional)
If the EC28 Di has to be mounted in a difficult-to-access location, the RC2 remote control facilitates servicing and adjustments (one-man adjustment). It displays the
same information that is shown on the transmitter‘s display.

Reliable Measurement & Minimal Operating Costs
The sensor and built-in temperature compensation ensure the highest measuring accuracy. The long sensor service life and low maintenance requirements ensure minimal operating costs.

Communication and Service
Communication is carried out via a 4-20 mA signal. The Smart Sensor technology enables quick and easy replacement of the sensor. Adjustments can be made using the RC2 remote control (one-man calibration).

Remote Control RC2 (optional)
Gases like ammonia and hydrogen are lighter than air. Transmitters with these sensors are therefore installed near the ceiling. To simplify servicing, these transmitters can be equipped with a permanently installed cable meaning that the RC2 remote control can be connected for maintenance work and settings can be made from ground level. The display of the RC2 remote control shows the same information as would be shown by the EC28 versions with a display. This makes inspection, maintenance and calibration much easier.

Reliable Measurement & Minimal Operating Costs
The sensor and built-in temperature compensation ensure the highest measuring accuracy. The long sensor service life and low maintenance requirements ensure minimal operating costs.
