GMA200-RTW

The wall-mounting housing GMA200-RTW was specially developed for the relay modules GMA200-RT and GMA200-RTD. Where top-hat rail mounting is not possible or not required, a relay module in a GMA200-MW housing can be mounted anywhere on the wall. The relay modules extend the functional range of the GfG controllers by 16 relays each with potential-free change-over contacts.

The GMA200-RTW housing offers additional protection against dirt and dust. It is optionally offered with 230 volt power supply or without integrated power supply.

GMA200-UPS

A gas detection computer like our proven GMA200 is the heart of a gas detection system. It evaluates the measured values of the connected transmitters centrally and usually also supplies them with voltage. A disturbance in the power supply of the controller consequently results in a complete failure of the gas monitoring system. Even with the shortest interruptions, the start-up times of the affected devices mean that hazards caused by gases are not controlled for a longer period of time.

Control and minimize risks
The GMA200-UPS prevents gas detection system failure by supplying power to the GMA200 as soon as the normal power supply is interrupted, even for a brief moment. As a result, the areas being monitored are never unsecured. With the GMA200-UPS, no critical gas concentration goes undetected in the event of a fault in the power supply network that powers the gas detection system, including the transmitters and alarm devices.

Equipment and versions
The GMA200-UPS is installed in a GMA200-MW16 housing (dimensions: 270 x 290 x 98 mm | W x H x D) and is wall-mounted. Automatic charging of the integrated lead-acid batteries for the emergency power supply is provided by an integrated 24 V DC power supply unit with 50 Watt output. The uninterruptible power supply is offered in two versions that can bridge a power failure for either one or three hours (each at a maximum of 1.8 A).

Key features at a glance:
  • Suitable for GMA200 series controllers
  • Secures the power supply of gas detection systems in case of malfunction or power failure
  • Different versions: 3.4 Ah for 1 hour or 5.4 Ah for 3 hours bridging time (each at max. 1.8 A)
  • Built-in in GMA200-MW16 housing for wall-mounting (incl. 24 V DC power supply)

GMA200-TFT

Even if the controllers and transmitters in a gas detection system each have an integrated display for measured values, a central and bundled visualization of the entire gas detection system brings great advantages. In this way, the measured values and alarm statuses of transmitters that are connected to different controllers can also be displayed on one screen. This is especially important if the controllers are located in different rooms or buildings. In addition, the screen can be installed in a safe location, away from hazardous areas or hazards caused by gases.

Clear presentation
To enable measured values to be read centrally and in a safe place, we offer TFT displays in 8, 15 and 21 inch sizes. They have a touch screen function and are suitable for easy wall mounting or control cabinet installation. The GMA200-VS software provides a particularly good overview of all measuring points. All connected controllers and all transmitters are displayed comprehensively. The clear color scheme makes it possible to quickly assess the situation at any time:

  • Green: Everything in order (no alarm and no malfunction).
  • Yellow: Special status (e.g. maintenance or malfunction)
  • Orange: Alarm 1 (pre-alarm)
  • Red: Alarm 2 or 3 (main alarm)

Within the user interface it is possible to switch between a general overview of all controllers and a detailed individual view. In addition to the room, controller and transmitter designations, the currently measured gas concentration, the gas type, the measuring range and the configured alarm thresholds are displayed. Alarms can be acknowledged via the reset function.

Easy-to-use touch screen
The visualization displays of the GMA200 TFT series are full-fledged touch-screen computer interfaces. The resolution is up to Full HD (1,920 x 1080 pixels), depending on the screen diagonal. Smooth operation is ensured by 4 gigabytes of RAM and a quad-core processor with silent cooling without a fan. The integrated GMA200-VS software can also be purchased as a single workstation license (GMA200-VSL) to display measurement values on a computer or laptop.

GMA200-RTD

GfG controllers and certain transmitters have internal relays. External alarm devices such as information signs, warning lights and signal horns can thus be directly connected and managed. The same applies to measurement-controlled ventilation systems and valves. Complex gas warning systems, however, require a large number of automatic safety measures that are initiated when the defined gas limit values are exceeded or undershot. Up to four relay modules GMA200-RTD can be connected to the GfG controllers via the RS-485 interface. The total number of relays per gas detection computer can thus be increased by up to 64.

Extension of safety functions
The GMA200-RTD is equipped with 16 relays, each with a potential-free changeover contact. In addition to 16 external alarm devices or other measurement-controlled devices and functions, an external pushbutton can also be connected for alarm acknowledgement. Due to the spatial separation of controller and relay module, safety measures in remote areas (up to 1,200 m) can be implemented with significantly less cabling effort. The operating voltage of the GMA200-RTD is 24 V DC. Power supply is also possible redundantly via two power supplies. The device is configured via a gas measuring computer (by GMA200Config software) or via the mini-USB socket (USB type B) by PC.

Displays and Functional Safety
The GMA200-RTD displays the measured values of the transmitters connected via the controller as individual or collective displays. In the event of an alarm, the background color of the 2.2-inch color display changes to red. To operate the relay module, there is a pushbutton interface next to the display. For each relay, an LED lights up on the front of the relay module to indicate operation and any alarms or faults in color. In addition, four status LEDs indicate the operating status as well as service and error messages. The hardware of the GMA200-RTD meets the requirements of functional safety according to DIN EN 50402. In single-channel use (1oo1), the SIL capability corresponds to 2, in redundant use (1oo2) to 3.

GMA200-MGSS

Most gas sampling systems are bulky, heavy and expensive. To offer a compact all-in-one solution that can still be individually and modularly expanded, we developed the GMA200-MGSS. With the capabilities of a complex gas sampling system, it is still not larger than our GMA200 series controllers in a wall-mounted housing.  The MGSS is easy to mount, easy to maintain, safe and reliable.

Adaptable for difficult conditions
The modular concept allows perfect adaptation to the requirements of the plant to be monitored. Whether a simple solution for one gas or a full GSS for sequential monitoring of three gases from six intake points is required, the MGSS is the best choice for measuring gases in hot, humid, cold or dusty environments. To ensure accurate monitoring as well as long sensor life, a water barrier, condensate trap and suitable cooling coils are available as accessories. Equipped with a flame arrester, even samples from an Ex zone can be aspirated and analyzed.

Suitable for a wide range of gases
The sensor block can accommodate up to three sensors. Two electrochemical and/or infrared sensors and one catalytic combustion sensor can be integrated to monitor oxygen concentration, toxic gases and combustible gases down to the lower explosion limit. An overview of the measurable gases can be found at the bottom of this page.

Expansion possibilities
The MGSS has eight internal relays, six of which are individually programmable. Up to four relay modules GMA200-RT or GMA200-RTD (16 relays each with one normally open contact) can be connected via the GMA bus. At the maximum expansion level, 70 freely programmable relays are possible. In addition, up to twelve external transmitters can be connected via the digital RS-485 interface if needed. The data logger stores all measured values and events on a microSD card for subsequent evaluation.

Quick assessment of the hazardous situation
The current measured values, operating status and alarm level can be read directly from the MGSS, which features a color backlit display and status LEDs for this purpose. In addition, a red LED bar for a clearly visible alarm and a buzzer for an acoustic alarm are integrated. On-site operation and alarm acknowledgement is accomplished via five buttons next to the display. Configuration is performed via the USB interface, a laptop or PC and the GMA200Config software. All measurement data of the GMA200-MGSS can be displayed centrally and in a clear manner on a monitor or PC using optional visualisation software.
