The Saver PP Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus allows safe, effective and uncomplicated escape from hazardous environments, even if H2S is present. Simple to put on and featuring automatic operation, this positive-pressure breathing device features an integrated full-face mask and can be used in conjunction with other safety equipment such as ear protectors or helmets.
Benefits
When time is of the essence
- In emergency situations, conditions can deteriorate rapidly. The air is suddenly filled with smoke or toxic fumes and rapid escape is the only available option. The Dräger Saver PP was designed for use by trained personnel. When opened, the Dräger Saver PP is automatically activated and begins feeding a continuous supply of compressed air. The Saver PP gives the wearer the precious additional time needed to exit the area safely.
Highly visible, even under adverse conditions
- Available with either a soft bag or hard case, the Saver PP can be easily wall-mounted in strategic locations in potentially hazardous areas. Both black anti-static cases or bright orange bags feature photoluminescent panels and reflective stripes for enhanced visibility, even under low lighting conditions. The Saver PP is compact and lightweight and can be worn either across the chest or over the shoulder. Made from highly resistant materials, it is washable, flame retardant and allows water to drain freely.
Up to 15 minutes of lifesaving air
- The Dräger Saver PP utilizes a simple, fail-safe reducer system with excellent flow characteristics. It can be equipped with cylinders which can hold either a 10 or 15 minute supply of air. The unit can easily be reset following a false alarm. Cylinders can be refilled without the need for special tools.
Panorama Nova full-face mask
- The Panorama Nova full-face mask which comes with the Saver PP is another highquality product manufactured by Dräger. This reliable full-face mask features low exhalation resistance, provides excellent peripheral vision and is self-defogging. The elastic head harness is fast to put on in an emergency and holds the mask securely in place, even under strenuous conditions. The mask can be worn together with ear protectors and helmets.
Integrated hose for connection to external air supplies
- The new Dräger PP now features an integrated air hose for connection to external mid-pressure air supplies, commonly found in muster stations and in emergency assembly areas. This feature provides the user with potentially lifesaving protection in prolonged escape situations. Hose attachment and detachment are quick, safe and easy. Available connections are CEJN as standard and Forster or Hansen optional.
Low-maintenance, low cost protection
- Unless otherwise specified by local regulations, the Dräger Saver PP should require little to no service or maintenance for the first 10 years. A transparent window on both the soft bag and hard case lets you check the cylinder pressure gauge easily without unpacking the unit. Checks should be performed at regular intervals. You can then rely on the Dräger Saver PP to be there for you when you need it.

The Dräger PAS Colt PPH and Saver PPH emergency escape breathing devices facilitate both rapid escape and provide mid-duration protection from smoke or hazardous fumes. Simple to put on and featuring practically automatic operation, this hood-based, positive-pressure breathing device can even be recharged by an external air supply during use.
Benefits
Rapid escape is often only the first step
- When smoke or other toxic fumes make rapid escape the only option, an emergency escape breathing device (EEBD) can make all the difference. But in situations where escape from the immediate danger zone is not enough − such as on an oil rig – survival depends on a constant supply of breathing air until final instructions are received.
Rechargeable 15-minute air supply
- In many situations, escape from the immediate danger zone is only the first step. Following arrival at the muster station, definitive rescue is often more than 15 minutes away. Both the PAS Colt PPH and the Saver PPH feature an Aeroquip FD17 standard connection which can be attached to a central supply of compressed breathing air such as the Dräger CAS ChargAir stations. This allows the wearer to recharge the 3L 200 bar cylinder and breathe for an extended period. Ready for the next phase of the evacuation and safe in the knowledge to have 15 minutes of breathing air available in the unit.
Two effective solutions
- With the Dräger PAS Colt PPH and the Saver PPH, Dräger offers professionals at risk two effective protection solutions. Both use a positive-pressure hood (PPH) with a chemical-resistant, elastic neck seal. The materials selected offer resistence in particular to high concentrations of H2S. Both are fast and easy to put on and feature ultra-lightweight carbon composite cylinders. The flow of breathing air begins automatically when the hood is placed over the head, providing the wearer with 15 minutes of life-saving breathing air. Both are made of highly durable materials and designed for six years of maintenance-free storage only requiring the annual function check.
Conforms to relevant standards and norms
- With the Dräger PAS Colt PPH and Saver PPH, you do not have to worry about meeting international regulatory standards. The units comply to the relevant parts of EN402:2003 and the Pressure Equipment Directive.
The Dräger PARAT® 5550 is a fire escape hood packaged in a flame-retardant holster. It was specifically developed for fire rescue teams for use in victim rescue. The main advantage: The PARAT® 5550 is system approved together with Dräger breathing apparatus according to EN 137:2006, Type 2
Benefits
”Ready to act” increases safety
- With its EN 137:2006, Type 2 and EN 403:2004 approved combination of breathing apparatus, fire escape hood and holster, Dräger is going one step further in victim rescue. The fire escape hood can be carried along (e.g. on the breathing apparatus) without restricting the rescuer’s freedom of movement. When it is needed, it is there. The fast deployment of the Dräger PARAT 5550 contributes to the safety of the person being rescued.
Always available, always ready
- As it is not always clear in advance whether or not people are inside the scene of the incident, it is recommended to carry a fire escape hood at all times. For at least 15 minutes, a fire escape hood protects against highly toxic fire-related gases, like CO, as well as vapors and particles. Carried at all times, the PARAT 5550 can also save lives in a respiratory protection emergency, for example in the event of a disconnected air supply.
Easy opening, intuitive use
- The Dräger PARAT 5550 system solution keeps carrying, opening and donning the fire escape hood simple: The wearer opens the holster, removes the foil pouch containing the escape hood, opens it along the perforation — with ease, even when wearing gloves — and helps the person being rescued to don it. A clearly visible pictogram further illustrates the donning procedure.
More than just an accessory
- With its reflective stripes, the holster is clearly visible from a distance. The material used is suitable for cleaning in washing machines. The inner label can also be used for personalization, meaning that the holster can be marked with an individual’s identification. The holster can be attached to the breathing apparatus using the integrated belt loop with emergency release or the approved accessories like the shoulder harness or the carabiner hook. Optional accessory pockets (small and large) for further equipment like wedges or loops can be ordered separately.
Cost efficiency through long service life
- The PARAT 5550 has an eight year service life time and the filter is well protected through the filter plugs during this time. So it is uncritical if the unit is stored for some time before use. The filter expiration date is visible from the outside of the foil pouch enabling cost-effective maintenance. Due to the filter plugs, the product can still be used in the event the foil pouch is punctured.
The combined fire and industrial escape hood Dräger PARAT® 7500 was developed with users, placing the focus on the fastest possible escape. Optimized operation and wearing comfort, a robust housing and a tested ABEK CO P3 filter ensure protection from toxic industrial and fire-related gases, vapours and particles for at least 15 minutes.
Benefits
Ready for escape in only 3 steps
- Exceptionally innovative and intuitive: When opening the packaging, the filter plug is automatically released from the filter. The filter is then deployed into operational position and the hood can be immediately donned. Thanks to the self-adjusting internal head harness, no additional adjustment is required. All you have to do is open the packaging, remove and don the hood – and leave the danger zone.
Reliable protection
- The high-performance combination filter reliably protects against a wide range of fire and toxic industrial gases, vapours and particles. The ABEK CO P3 Filter is approved according to the EN standard 403:2004 for fire escape hoods, the DIN standard 58647-7 for filtering escape devices and is tested in accordance with the EN standard 14387:2004 for gas filter(s) and combined filter(s). In addition, the filter is tightly sealed with two filter plugs keeping it safe over its long lifetime.
16 years of service life
- Replacing the filter after eight years will extend the service life of the Dräger PARAT Escape Hood to 16 years in total. For this, Dräger offers filter replacement service or expert training for your employees.
Robust and ergonomic
- Both, ergonomics and wearing comfort were considered when designing the packaging of the Dräger PARAT Escape Hoods. The escape hood can be carried with a belt, shoulder strap, grip clip or belt clip. The PARAT Hard Case can also be mounted on the wall using a wallholder. Addtionally, the robust packaging of the Dräger PARAT Escape Hoods protects the device from damage.
Different packaging types
- You can select between two packaging types: The Hard Case provides splash water protection (IP54) – the Soft Pack provides dust protection (IP5). Both packaging types have a viewing window to check the filter expiration date and the condition of the device. Particularly convenient: The security seal on the packaing shows if the unit has been opened.
