Dräger Alcotest® 7000

The Dräger Alcotest® 7000 sets new standards in alcohol test devices. Its benefits include a wider temperature- and measuring range, low maintenance requirements and various networking options. In addition, the device can perform alcohol tests via both a mouthpiece and a funnel. Reliable alcohol tests have never been so fast, simple and efficient.

Dräger Alcotest® 5000

The Dräger Alcotest® 5000 is a professional breath-alcohol tester which detects the presence of alcohol. The high-speed breathalyser lets you perform numerous tests in no time. Its special funnel reduces the back-flow of expired air to a minimum, preventing the risk of infection to subsequent test subjects.

Maximum control in minimum time with our fastest ever breathalyser

With the Alcotest® 5000, you can test up to 12 people a minute to determine whether they have consumed alcohol or not. Especially for police and private security professionals, testing large numbers of people for intoxication in a short period of time presents a major challenge: for example, during large-scale operations, entrance checks at work sites, and stadiums, entry points to public transport and airport security checks. In the case of a positive test result, exact blood-alcohol levels can be calculated if necessary using Dräger alcohol screeners or court-approved evidential devices.

High-precision rapid alcohol testing with hygienic funnel design

The alcohol test takes place without the need for bodily contact with the test subject. There is no need to attach and detach mouthpieces, because testing requires the subjects simply to blow into a funnel. With its unique design, this special Dräger Alcotest 5000 funnel prevents the back-flow of the subject’s own expired air and the inhalation of any pathogens from previous test subjects. After use, the funnel attachment is easily exchanged, providing assurance of a hygienic solution.

Alcohol testing with simple operation and convenient oversight

With its easy-to-use, single-button operation via the OK button, the Alcotest 5000 is the latest generation of Dräger’s proven, simple-to-operate alcohol testing devices. Using its two additional arrow buttons, you can navigate easily and for example: view the latest test results, reset the test counter, check for the next scheduled calibration date, or set the menu to a different language. The instructions for the test process are language-neutral and easy to understand, thanks to symbols on the display.

Breath-alcohol testing at a distance

Where the tester and the test subject are not adjacent (for example, a driver seated in the cab of a lorry), the Alcotest 5000 features a ¼” thread on the back of the device where a standard selfie stick can be attached. This speeds up the breath-alcohol testing process.

With just one change of batteries, the Alcotest 5000 can perform over 5,000 tests, whether actively (the test subject actively blows into the funnel attachment) and / or passively (for example, measuring alcohol in ambient air or suspicion of alcohol in beverages).

Innovation born out of tradition

With over 65 years of experience, Dräger is the global market leader in the field of breath-alcohol testing. Police in many countries use devices from the Alcotest product series in everyday traffic monitoring. The Alcotest 5000 is made in Germany and meets the highest standards of quality. It uses the same, professional EC sensor technology, ensuring precise test performance and secure results.

Dräger Interlock® 7000

The Dräger Interlock® 7000 is an alcohol ignition interlock device (IID) which prevents a person under the influence of alcohol from starting the vehicle. The Interlock® 7000 has a quick start-up time. Additionally, the device can be equipped with a camera, a GPS and/or a mobile data transfer module, according to the specific customer requirements.

Benefits

Reliable prevention of driving under the influence of alcohol

  • An Interlock 7000 is a car breathalyzer, which can be used preventively in public transportation, freight transport and at workplace to reduce the risk of drink-driving. The Interlock 7000 is also used in many countries for legal measures, as part of the “drink-driving offender programs (DUI/DWI)”. In these countries, offenders who were caught with a blood alcohol level over a certain limit have to use an Interlock device in their cars. Reliable results, tamper-proof data recording and data management play a key role in these programs.

How the Interlock 7000 works

  • The Interlock 7000 consists of two components: handset and control unit. In the handset the breath sample is analysed. The control unit releases or blocks the starter relay of the vehicle. Once the vehicle’s ignition is switched on, the Interlock 7000 requests a breath test from the driver. If the device detects an alcohol value (BrAC) above the set limit, it prevents the engine from being started. The device helps to systematically eliminate alcohol-related risks of accidents and to prevent impaired driving.

Quick operational readiness

  • Particular features of the Interlock 7000 are the extremely short warm-up and its quick readiness for use. At temperatures of more than 0 °C it is ready for immediate use. At temperatures below 0 °C the ignition interlock is still quickly ready for use. With an approved temperature range of -45 °C to 85 °C, it ensures that the device works reliably under all kinds of ambient conditions.

Easy operation of the alcohol interlock

  • The design of the Interlock 7000 is appealing and ergonomic, with the mouthpiece on the back of the handset – hence, not easily recognised as an alcohol ignition interlock device. The hygienic mouthpieces of the Interlock 7000 are completely biodegradable. The breath sample can be given in no time. The navigation on the colour display makes the use of this device easy and intuitive. Additionally, coloured LEDs on the device enhance the ease of use for the user.

Safe data handling

  • The data log of the Interlock 7000 saves all relevant events such as date, time, submission or refusal to submit an alcohol test, measured alcohol concentration, engine starts and stops and any attempts to tamper with the interlock device. The data is transferred from the control unit to the PC via an infrared interface or via Bluetooth®. Downloaded data is available to authorised persons only. From creation to provision of the data special encryption methods guarantee data protection.

Mobile data transfer module

  • If the Interlock 7000 is equipped with an additional mobile data transfer module, it is possible for certain predefined events to transmit data automatically to the responsible entity or person via a cellular network. This event can, for example, be an attempt to start the engine under the influence of alcohol.

Camera

  • The Dräger Interlock 7000 can be equipped with a camera for applications where it is a legal requirement or for special customer requirements. The camera records the submitted breath samples with images. It can be easily installed in each vehicle. The infrared technology ensures good image quality, regardless of whether it is day or night.

Reliable measurement technology

  • The Interlock 7000 specifically measures alcohol. The measuring result is reliable and precise. Also, attempts to bypass or manipulate the device are reliably identified and stored in the system. The device is able to identify whether the alcohol detected in the breath sample is actual breath alcohol or only mouth alcohol.

Proven Dräger technology

  • With more than 60 years of experience, Dräger is world market leader in breath alcohol measurement. The Alcotest product family is used by police authorities in many countries for traffic control. The Interlock 7000 uses the proven sensor technology of the Alcotest. Alcohol ignition interlocks by Dräger have been successfully established for more than two decades.
